Unsurprisingly, it didn't sell.

They are now offering it for £115,000, which based on other Aero 8 S5 sales, is still far in excess of what other S5s, with low mileage, have sold for.

my thought exactly Simon - and how easy would it be to buy replacemnt parts for those items in need of fittling?

Add to that the conundrum of whether someone would want to use it after paying a premium for low mileage example?

I used to joke that microswitches, A/C issues and a new sump were the bare minimum annual additions to the standard servicing on a well cared for, but regularly used, Aeromax. I can't imagine what the bill for a low miles car would look like when taken to MMC.

We need a Google Docs spreadsheet to which Aero owners can all contribute. Each component that needs to be replaced gets identified and the manufacturer noted. Filters, track rod ends, connectors, switches, everything. If it was made in house by MMC then you could measure up/scan/draw each part so that it could be remade by a competent machine shop.

The big challenge I believe would be that few Aero owners are willing to do their own maintenance, maybe? Of course that will probably depress used prices until they come within the range of impoverished DIY mechanics. If anyone comes across an Aero Supersports for $30k please let me know!

My understanding is that some S1/S2 parts are becoming more challenging, if not nearing impossible, to locate.

S3 < is a mixed bag but whilst there may be a delay in sourcing a specific part, most are still available. However, if I am not mistaken, there were long delays for body parts (wings) last year. My assumption is that MMC probably need to buy them in bulk numbers from Superform and will wait until stock is low to order the next run; this could be delayed if Superform are busy and scheduling the run is problematic.

I did start a project, with someone who knows far more than, to find alternative sources for defunct parts or perhaps speak with the original manufacturer; however, like many things, it is contingent on finding the time to do it properly.
