After all I have said and done, I do admit that the Bleazey mod makes a terrific bit of sense. The car was built around a fully assembled engine attached to the frame then the skin was added. It all amounts to various nightmares doing reasonable things like replacing the clutch, which is now a total engine-out operation. Your comment about the state of the shops that are capable of doing the work being over-booked and backed up rings too true. I lost the expertise of a biker shop that could do the work on the X-Wedge due to the death of the owner/mechanic and now I will have to travel well over two hours in any direction to find any one what can do the work. By the way, the first thing I took possession of before picking up the Blau Beastie was a trailer suitable to cart around a sick, British built, hand made, barely street legal sports car!

I did go ahead and buy the Bleazey mod. Although I haven't installed it yet. Being in Texas, there are not a lot of shops to take it to where I can get this done. However, I have an engine lift, the tools and I'll roll up my sleeves. I am sitting at about 10K miles on my M3W now. I need to get the endoscope out and check my rollers and see how they are doing. I was going to wait on installing the Bleazey mod and new clutch when I needed to replace the rollers. Not sure if that will be sooner or later. smile

Phil B's video on taking out the engine gives a good idea of what is involved - my son and I did ours in a few hours using this as a guide - complex/fiddly (esp as we both have big hands) but not difficult if you have the space, a hoist and the range of imperial/metric tools required.

Our car had no hole at all in the bell housing for inspecting the rubbers so we did the Bleazey conversion once the rubbers had done ~10,000 miles as we do long tours and wanted to avoid the risk of failure - as it happenns, the used rubbers looked like new....

Ditto on the EZ Carlift. It's a versatile tool and while not essential to 3W ownership, sure makes DIY servicing and storing (I have the wheel kit) it a lot more pleasant. It can be adapted to larger vehicles too, so has quite a bit of utility.

Correct - you don't need to fit the full PB modification anymore. In fact I think PB doesn't sell them anymore for third party installation - he will only fit his Centa upgrade himself.
If you go the 'rotor modification' route then you do not need to 'break' the crankshaft to Centa connection which is the point where a few further issues have arisen where a complete PB kit has been installed.

Thank you all for your input. I'm going to fly to the West Coast --likely for a Super 3. The engine/drive train issues on the Twin are a little daunting given that I'll need a shop to do the Bleazey mod, which will add considerably to the cost of the vehicle. Much as I like the vibe of the Twin, I think I've found a Super that will work for me. We shall see. My goal is to drive the thing on the backroads here. I considered driving it back from the west coast, but I think that would be a little grueling- yeah, a "shakedown" run, but it's already hot here and it would take a week to do that trip on the state roads. Though I plan to tour in the vehicle and look forward to meeting some of you as well. I will also have to make the pilgrimage to Malvern.

I drove my first Morgan the hour after I had completed payment! Mine had finally arrived at the dealer so off we went. I had an irrepressible grin that would not wipe off. I hope you have one as well!

Best of luck on your search for the ultimate Three-Wheeler. If you get the Super 3, and decide to drive it to Austin, please let me know. From our recent conversation, you may recall where in I am in West Texas. It would make a good rest stop for some shade, and world class Margaritas. (The Kentucky Bar in Juarez is where the Margarita originated, back when Sinatra went there, and divorces cost only fifty bucks).
You are welcome to park your new machine in my hangar, alongside of my black as homemade sin Three-Wheeler and the open-cockpit biplane. I'll be happy to "fly" formation for a bit when you head out Eastbound.

It would appear fabulous to get as many Texas Three Wheeler Maniacs together in the Fall for a tour around the Hill Country.
Wine, Wimmin', 3-Wheelers, and Willie seems like an appropriate theme.
