Depending on circumstances:
- Post gardening or lunch times = a light beer
- Weekend evenings G&T plus maybe a scotch at bed time
- Dining out a robust red wine

My favorite drink after a busy day is a gin tonic ... preferably Monkey 47

Try Bundaberg my fav ginger beer, vodka and Limoncello, makes a great Moscow (f**k**s) Mule - MM my signature cocktail.at my daughters summer festival wedding

Mike, I favour Bundaberg and, if I can't get that, Fentimans in second place. Will try your suggestion!

My go to is a spiced rum (there are so many excellent ones), with Bundaberg and a good squeeze of lime (2 parts rum to 5 parts ginger beer).

Clemens, Monkey 47 is excellent. Have you tried any of James May's Gins? I have to say his Asian Parsnip gin is excellent and for winter, California Dreamgin. Despite the name and reference to California, the girolle mushroom undertone tastes a little like a hint of pine to me, hence feeling more wintery.

Bob, my first hangover was on homemade scrumpy and I can still recall the feeling, many decades later! pale laugh2

...I still do love a cider, so it can't have been that bad!

Simon I must confess, I have never tried James May Gin.
So that's another item on my must-try list 😀
So far, my favorite gin is Monkez 47 with Fentimans Tonic, then Beefeater and finally the classic Hendriks.

Definitely the G&T on a warm summer evening - red wine with dinner and occasionally a fine malt whisky although there is a problem - one malt gives me very vivid, sometimes nightmarish, dreams - two or more, no problem!! So problem solved!

Ken, do you take statins by any chance? I used to have terrible dreams after drinking, but eventually realised that it didn't happen if I took my nightly atorvastatin at least an hour before starting on the booze.

The Queen Mother's favourite: Warner Edwards Rhubarb gin, with a dash of tonic, fresh grapefruit juice and a lot of ice is a very nice summer drink.

I do take statins! Think I prefer taking the second wee dram to changing my statin routine!! smile
