Gendan do a range of options for Ford kit. I bought the kit to do my Fiat from them and it was excellent, allowed me to do all my own servicing on it.

Hi Dave, Tim's suggestion may be a better choice but I purchased one of these for another vehicle:

Topdon - Topscan Lite

https://amzn.eu/d/bDY6rH1

It allowed me to reset fault codes, etc. I did do a quick compatibility check and it appears to work with Euro Ford products; however, perhaps an email to them to clarify may be the best option.

In my case, I knew what the fault was on the vehicle but after repairing the loom, I needed to clear the error and this little gizmo did it. As a vehicle electrician wanted £250 to do the same thing, the £55 dongle seemed a good option. At the time of purchase, you get 1-years free access to software downloads but I believe after that it costs £50.00 for another year, should you want to update it. As I was going to use it very rarely, I thought this wasn't too bad and I'd pay for another year if required.

They do have a site with support: https://www.topdon.com/pages/support-main

Dave, if it's just the simple MIL lamp on the Roadster, it's worth trying the battery disconnect overnight, often works on the 3.0 Roadsters when they have a little brain fart

It's odd because in 17 years it's never been on, but having been in Scotland and scarce E5, that does make me wonder if that's why, although the S1 also (apparently) suffers from an occasional leaking gasket between ex manifold and cat pipe.

Hi Dave

I know nothing about your Morgan car models but assuming they are OBD2 compliant and they very probably are, then there are very cheap (about £15) OBD2 fault readers available on the internet. If all you requite is to read the fault codes when the engine warning light comes on and then reset them and put the light out they would be do the job. They plug into the diagnostic socket. Just type obd fault reader into google

Forgive me if you already know this but an example of a fault code these devices would show is P0301 which means misfire on cylinder 1. You can look up all the code meanings on the internet.

I have had one of these for years and it works very well on both my Ford cars and on my wife's Smart car (heaven help us) which is made by Mercedes. Ironically it does not work on my 1999 Morgan because it is not OBD compliant despite the fact that pretty much all cars made in that year were. I have a much deeper diagnostic software tool on my computer for the Morgan.

If you require a deeper look into the car workings then Simon and Hamwich posts are more suitable.

Regards Tony

Fleabay obdii dongle and the torque pro app worked on my s1. Read the error code and any pending ones before wiping them
