Beats me what all the "Clapton is god" stuff is all about. One very short riff when he isn't near the mic, the other guitarist takes over then,... plus a couple of short, hackneyed pentatonic moves at the top of the neck.... I'll hang on to my guitar for the time being....😁 There are so many better guitarists out there.....puts pint glass on table and settles in for a good pub discussion...

I'd agree. He's certainly made some memorable music, but I wouldn't say any of it has been particularly innovative. As a major contributor to the British blues scene in the '60s he's earned his place, but there are simply loads of better players and musicians both living and dead, 2 of whom were in the same band as him!
