Dave,
Sorry to hear of your problems. If its any consolation I had a similar short episode (TIA) 3 years ago - but - completely recovered now and never had re-occurrence.
Lost use of left leg, left arm and big gap/hole in my vision for about 1-2 hours but the good news all cleared within hours - so hope you will be the same. Now on medication to stop it again.
Mine was caused by a PFO which in simple terms bypassed when I was straining (dont ask!) - they call it the Valsalva maneuver which brings it on. Echogram on my heart with high contrast picked it up - been there forever but never a problem...Some medical terms to look up while you have some rest time...:-)
Anyway, hope you have no lasting effects and get back to normal soon - you are an asset to the Morgan world and in my view font of all Morgan related knowledge so we need you.
Best wishes.

So right now, MrsW is imposing no garage work so I'm a little bit cabin fever, and the jobs are building up.
In the last 17 years, I've never had the mil light come on my S1 Roadster, but the odd brands of fuel in Scotland, and the lack of E5 has lit the bulb.
Way back in time I applied carpet under the dashboard, which covers the mess which is the S1 design, but now I don't remember the location of the diagnostic plug. This will be specific to the S1 Roadster and perhaps also the same as the Plus 4, and 4/4 built around 2002-2005, with the cream instruments, and speedo and revcounter ahead of the driver. I would expect the plug to be close to the steering column, because the centre section of underdash is full of the fuse box. I'm asking this question before I start removing carpet, just to have an idea.
In other news, my Plus 4 failed on emissions at the recent test. This is not unexpected after a number of years on the edge. But this time it really failed. There were no faults arising from my October incident, where it would not rev above tick over. But there is a cam 2 fault listed, which is probably a result of how it spit the dummy at me last October, after a perfect thousand miler in Scotland.
My thoughts at the time of the spat were bad fuel, or overheating of the exhaust manifold, as I had extra wrapped the manifold after Scotland. There is also a flag in the O2 sensor upstream of the cat. After discussing all this at the dealer, we are now thinking that the cat may have collapsed and partly blocked, causing such bad running which also cleared on that day. I was already planning to replaced the cat, even if it passed the MoT. But there is no point in replacing like for like, so I will use a bespoke specialist, and I'm planning on a 300cell replacement. For now, the Plus 4 will be on Sorn, until I get permission to return to the garage.
In the meantime this week I'm enjoying conjunctivitis. It never rains eh?

WOW! Just saw this post. A bit of a shock. Glad you got quick medical assistance Dave. I hope things go ok. It looks like you have a great boss looking after you too! Like you I enjoy hand-on for car and diy but having turned 71 I am slowing down on heavy physical stuff. This was a contributary factor to getting the Plus Four. I had a list of jobs to future proof the Plus8 to keep it and tinker as and when necessary. I'll still have a hands-on but it should be less than before. Drive more, tinker less! Best wishes for the future.

It never rains eh? Dave, the plug is tucked up out of view above the passenger footwell

Which side of the footwell Jon? Towards tunnel, or towards the door?
