I have taken my 4/4 on the ferry a few times no problem. You can pay by card on the ferry.
If you look at the pictures of the ferry the ramp is flat to the concrete landing stage.
Not sure about Roadsters with their lower sump.

Only been on it in the 90, but I seem to remember the ramps were flat. Nearly took the MINI across earlier today, but still had many miles to go to get home so gave it a miss.

The universal ones from Carbuilder Solutions have a good reputation.

Barry, We've been on the ferry that crosses Windermere (nr the new Boat Museum) in the classic Mini which is very nearly as low as the Roadster with no problem as the entry and exit ramps are fairly gentle

As i have had to replace the gator on the rack for the mot this is the second time in 1500 miles its the same side could it be the heat from the radiator? as anyone else had the same 1.6 sigma or is it a bad product the original one was very hard plastic.the ones ive fitted are flexible

Barrie, I can vouch for the universal gators from car builder. they are pence compared to the Morgan options which are fragile beyond belief. Don't know if you re-lubed the rack when you changed the last one out but I have found that the rack's don't seem to have any real lubrication other than some protective surface greasing by Quaife. Guess Morgan just fit them but don't apply lubricant. Needs to be a slumping grease that won't just move aside after the rack and pinion have been through it a few times, Slumping grease will move back and resettle maintaining constant lubrication. If you want you can have a look on my posts and about a year ago I did a write up on rack maintenance. A tell-tale will be, does any graphite looking lube come out when removing the gator, a fair amount per side actually. My plus 4 is a 2010 model and I have changed out two MMC gators both on the left side. Second one even had a micro defect on one outer bellow fin which leaked from the off! turned the defect to the top to prevent leakage and ran it for two years until it failed...... yep, split an internal fin just as the previous two had!

Main reason I replied though! got side tracked.....Yes I can vouch that the Windermere ferry is as flat as a pancake both sides of the lake. When there last time I asked them if there was a change in height due to weather conditions effecting the height of the water and they said in was negligible and shouldn't change things enough to cause a problem with low cars.
