Oh my god.....you've opened up a can of worms now.............😆!!!!!!!!!
If you're keeping it forever, and the colour is wild and wacky..... knock yourself out...... it really doesn't matter as long as YOU love it. The opportunity to spec up a new Morgan is a responsibility that not too many people ever have. There are a lot of experts and an infinite number of permutations and opinions.......
However....... if you think you might sell it one day......... I'd advise.... a degree of restraint......!!!!! Go for a classic and subtle colour combination, obviously go with something you like, but there are some combinations that are totally unsellable..... in any market conditions....!!!😁
I went for royal ivory with black leather....... classic, and I happened to love it.....
Good luck............ and, whatever you do, don't listen to anyone else's opinions.........!!!😆

So your not specking a new car after all, seems you might want the penny the bun and the plate. Good luck with the hunt there are plenty out there.

My first Morgan was ordered in a Bentley colour called Silverlake Blue, paired with Prussian Blue (dark navy) leather and light wood. ! +1 for Silverlake Blue with matching blue leather interior. The current steed never fails to receive positive reactions, including the ‘landlady’s prize’ and various other accolades, relating to this colour combination. Having sampled the CX auto box with paddles, a good old fashioned gearstick remains the one for me. That said, like the colour it is a subjective opinion.

I expect something a little more grown up on here! Things change when you research things properly. I’m certainly not wasting money on a factory order when 12k discounts are being offered on ready built unregistered current year models; who in their right mind would? Especially when you read about main dealers not taking 3year old cars in against a brand new car - it’s just silly and certainly damaging to the marque.

What a silly reply! I expect something a little more grown up on here! You've not been here long, have you? You'll soon get the hang of it. Taff was only pointing out that if you're looking to buy used or pre-reg, you're going to have to wait an awful long time to get your exact choice of transmission, colour, and leather. That's exactly what the £12k difference is all about, you're getting somebody else's choice of spec rather than your own

The price premium about buying new was always the biggest issue. Because you pay over the odds, and actually have to do without a few options when it gets stupid. But the experience of chosing the spec and ordering at the dealer and then seeing your car being assembled at the factory is priceless. I was there five days across the two week assembly of my Plus 4. Saw the body tub attached to the chassis, saw it in the trim shop having the leather installed, saw the dashboard assembled on the bench, saw the first gallon of fuel go in, and a lot more besides. That's not for everybody, but that was for me. From 2003 to 2008 I maintained a complex spreadsheet of Plus 8s and Roadsters for sale. There were a lot. My requirements were extensive. Wire wheels and over-riders. Easy Up hood in black mohair. Black interior. Not metallic paint and very choosy on colour. In five years of looking, not a single car ticked all the boxes, until in 2008, my Roadster actually did.

You got the exact car you wanted Dave and an unique experience. According to chasing the dream thats a waste of money, silly silly me. Except, I don’t think it’s just me. Remind me how long waiting lists used to be? Circa 3years? I’ve been offered a build slot that would get me a car in 3months. So I KNOW I’m not alone. In the last two weeks I know of three cars with significant money adjustments:- A 3 year old plus six with 30k mile that was 84k new and only given 42k px. A 1 year old plus six with 200miles that was nearly £120k new and now at £78k (so px value considerably lower). A brand new unregistered plus four that’s £81k if specd online being offered at £69k. Personally I don’t think the above losses are justified by being able to say ‘I got to see it being built (well a little bit). Each to their own I suppose but I’d never look back on a car fondly with losses that significant.

Well you can't take it with you. I had planned for my DC scheme excess to go to the kids but Rachel from accounts wants IHT on it. I bought a secondhand CX before the policy change but I can see others flashing the cash.
I won't comment on how a pension contract with HM Gov. isn't wrth the paper it is written on.
