Just starting the journey Gordon... Going to take some time. Yes, Fraserburgh. And Kinnaird Head L/Ho more or less next door.

Took the MINI to Scotland last week, with a group of fellow Morgan owners. It proved to be a token Mog by slight leak into boot in heavy rain. Here at Todd Head Lighthouse a little north of Montrose. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2025/06/17/Todd_Head_LHo_C-2.jpg) Graham, I love that picture and your cabriolet looks handsome in those colours too Looking forward to meeting up in Newton Abbot soon, and having a good look at your car too before cider time. The Premier Inn at the racecourse is looking a good option for our first stop after everyone has arrived that day. Austins is a lovely old market style mostly ladies department store for those not wanting cider. Of course Dartmoor is 10 minutes drive from Newton Abbot so there are many options, The House of Marbles is a quaint but very current venue to visit 5 miles from Newton on the road to Lustleigh village on the Moor which has the quaintest Tea Cafe ever in the village square and a nice little place to walk around. Day two heading for Dartmoor and anywhere the group would like to see including the prison Museum and a lunch in the Old Police House in Princetown, a chance to purchase some Jail Ale should you wish to as a momento or consumption.. If anyone fancies a brisk walk up a Tor they can do so also. Head back to Widecombe in the Moor for our overnight and meet up for dinner in The Old Inn together, good scran and well kept Ales and Ciders in a warm friendly atmosphere. Accommodation ideas at Widecombe in a while today.

Drove 600 miles in my 1971 4/4 on Friday on Saturday on a round trip to deliver some pre war motorcycle parts to the Norfolk Broads.
Had some issues with vapour lock due to the extreme temperatures.
Called into see my godfather near Ely and his lovingly restored 1966 Plus 4 Competition model (which he's owned from new and was used by Lynda Barron in the factory promotion shot)

Last week when we visited Braemar we stopped briefly in Strathdon, we returned today and did a bit of hillwalking then drove home via the Highland tourist route to Tomintoul. Great driving road and clear sunny skies all the way.👍

I enjoyed a great drive out around the Trossachs in my old 80`s +8, yesterday morning , the weather was a tad cloudy and threatening, even felt a couple of spits, but as luck woulld have it the spits came to nothing, and quite by chance it seems I had my favourite section of road almost totally free of traffic, the old Mog was in it`s element..as was I on this rather demanding stretch of Tarmac, which required concentration, quite some degree of physical effort and more so where the road surface was a tad less than perfect in places, I suspect each of the wheels in turn may have lost a measure of contact with the road surface over the bumps, but there was more than enough involvement and enjoyment in the whole process for me to think that it seems like quite a while since I enjoyed a circa 75 mile drive out in the countryside quite as much as this run... Regardless of the other vehicles I have at my disposal with the ability to grip the road better, as the result of their on board digital management of everything, or provide me with considerably more comfort convenience and general bling, along with EV acceleration, or in another petrol powered circa 400 horses, compared to the old Mogs perhaps 150....! Who was it first declared "Horses for Courses" I wonder, but he sure got it right.... The Mog was just the perfect machine to choose for that road and on that morning.... What`s more to want...? Looks a cracking run George .... envious, as it's been miserable with downpours and thunder just a bit further north here today (though hopefully that will help the wildfires up the coast ... been smelling the smoke in the air on and off for days) .... a day for indoor jobs!

Oh yeah, we drove our Morgan. 1400 miles from Connecticut to London, Ontario, Canada for a wedding of 2 of our Morgan club members, then on to Goderich, Ontario, Canada, for a get together with folks from the Canadian Morgan club. The time in Canada was fantastic, from the weather to the people. The toughest part was the US part of the drive. The day we left the high temp was 36°c and bright sun. 7 hours on the road was brutal. Luckily we had our 2 static air conditioners installed which did help (see the picture). The final stop in Canada was on the shores of Lake Huron, one of the great lakes. We had 13 cars in total, had some great drives, and great food. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2025/07/02/1000004958.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2025/07/02/1000004946.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2025/07/02/1000004945.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2025/07/02/1000004949.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2025/07/02/1000004935.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2025/07/02/1000004932.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2025/07/02/1000004927.jpg)
