Hi all-

My name is Michael and I live in Southern California.

Bought my first Morgan in May. It's a green 2005 Roadster (Rover Panama Green Metallic - 748). Purchased it via a Bring a Trailer auction. Very low mileage, which is good (engine and transmission should be good for quite some time) and bad (owner didn't drive much and didn't really do a lot in the way of maintenance, so many things needed attention). At least he changed the oil regularly, but that was about it.

Fortunately, there is a Morgan dealer in Santa Monica, about 30 miles from my house. The mechanic there seems to know his stuff and has brought my car up to speed. Drives like a dream now.

My second British sports car - bought a 2005 Lotus Elise 20 years ago. Put 95,000 miles on it until its untimely demise in an accident caused by a 91-year old who shouldn't have been driving (in my opinion). Loved my Lotus, but I think that the Morgan is going to be a worthy replacement.

My plan is to at least double the mileage in my first year of ownership (came with 4,800 miles).

Looking forward to learning from the experienced owners in this group.

Welcome to TM ... you're within easy range of some good roads down there (had a cousin in Palm Springs so used to road-trip the SW a lot a few years back.)

Couldn't ask for a better climate for an open car (in the winter at least🙂)

Post some pics of your travels ... will kick off my nostalgia!

Enjoy the Morgan but for the record some drivers at 17 drive and have killed others or themselves. Some 91 year olds still drive well if a little more cautiously than they once did . My wife’s 94 year old uncle is a very good driver with good awareness and reflexes . I am a happy passenger with him.
Of course your 91 year old might or perhaps was a danger on the road……..
Enjoy, MM

I have done a lot of Harley / Indian touring around California - great memories.
(Indian was far superior)
Like yourself, I am very newly into Morgan having decided I'm slightly long in the tooth for motorcycles.
(Not quite 91 yet, though!)

Welcome to TM.

To double the miles is a good idea. 2025 - 4800miles, 2026. - 9600miles (or 19200?)… great step to enjoy the MOG.
