Looks great. I hope our young pup looks that good in 2053 - although I suspect that someone else will be enjoying it by then.

Hi Tim
Beautiful photo, but I'm a bit confused, taking into account the age of your Morgan.
No studs on the windshield. The side indicators on the wings? Rearview mirror? etc...
Weird for a 1986 4/4. Unless a full rebuild. confused

At a guess:

Rod mirror kit.
Simmons hood conversion ( or similar)
Indicators match those on the 1985 car that I owned.

Paul is exactly correct. My car is not what you'd call original, it's a bit of a Trigger's Broom. I've been modifying/improving it ever since I got it 25 years ago.

- GM Ecotec engine conversion with aftermarket ECU (165bhp instead of the original 90-odd)
- Replacement chassis from Terry Foxen
- Mulberry aluminium radiator and header tank
- Simmonds Hood, tonneau cover, sidescreens
- Fibreglass wings front and rear
- Front under-dash roll/stiffening hoop
- Twin-piston front brake calipers
- SSL front suspension with hard chrome king pins
- Rear suspension hoop with AVO shock absorbers
- 4/4 Sport rear springs
- Panhard rod and anti-tramp bars
- a set of Rog's spring assisters/bump stops
- Limited slip diff (Quafe ATB)
- Absolutely loads of stainless stuff from Heart of England and Librands

For me, part of the joy of my Morgan is adding a personal touch. This element of Morgan ownership seems to be diminishing as regulation changes and other factors limit what can be done to a car by the owner.

I took the 4/4 for a shake down run today, just a 20 mile run into Derbyshire to get everything up to temperature and make sure she is good for next weekends trip to Oulton Park for the Gold Cup event. Is anyone else going?

The removal of the air filter socks has greatly improved the running, but I do need to try and find some form of gauze to prevent insects, stones and small children getting sucked into the throttle bodies.

As usual I was driving with a tear in my eye, but my dad’s flying jacket and scarf are on the passenger seat beside me as a reminder to ‘take it steady!’

For those of you who know the car, there is no hood as the car has a low line screen fitted, so I got a few drops of rain in my hair, but I got home before the heavens opened properly. A quick wipe down with some finishing spray and she is all ready for next weekend!

Apologies JD, the brain's finally kicked into gear, hope all's well and rest assured we all miss MD, we'll be recalling the old days with a toast to the great man next week whilst touring Wales with some Yorkshire pals

After a lots of Kilometers in Britain in May the MOG thinks a time out would be the thing.

But now, with a lot of help from the people here, he‘s back. Yes, some usual small journeys around the corner, yes, I can trust him… a call from friends: let‘s drink a glass of wine. So clear: a journey for the „Sperrholzrenner“ (Plywoodracer). Out of the city on small roads and than towards the river Rhine to Guntersblum.

A nice journey to a nice location: https://burghof-oswald.de/

It‘s difficult to get something better like such a day.
