Hi, has anyone replaced the figure of 8 Exhaust Tail Pipe rubber hanger? I am struggling to get the bracket over the large, l shaped flange at the end of the exhaust and car brackets, has anyone got experience of doing this? Thanks

Should slip on easily if everything is aligned, make sure you use a smear of washing up liquid to lubricate everything first.

I and others (non-Morgan) have used petrol on the rubber item to make it less grippy and more inclined to slip over obstinate obstacles. It takes no more than a splash or two but best to work fast before it evaporates....Of course one has to be WELL aware of the dangers of using petrol and more so in an enclosed space..
Good luck.

Go on the bay and an exhaust hanger tool is fairly cheap and a joy to use!

Hi Simon

My car is a 1999 4/4 and has a figure of 8 exhaust hanger at the rear. I replaced it with a polyurethane mount from a company called Powerflex part number EXH003 supposed to last for ever. Fitted using washing up liquid it was a doddle.
