Enjoyable lunch with good company - no rain despite menacing clouds. Shall be returning Saturday lunchtime as they have a small steam event there over this weekend on the village green outside the pub.

Richard, I'm sorry the jet lag stopped me joining you. Might come up on Sat though.

A couple of recent trips when the weather has been favourable. We spent three days in Fife, an area that we've seldom visited, usually just drive through on the motorway! A nice county spoilt by the excessive speed bumps in virtually every town and village!

First up Falkland or if you're an Outlander fan like Mrs D "Inverness"

And Falkland palace gardens

Yesterday we took a day trip up Speyside, this is the rail bridge at Boat o Brig.

And Ballindalloch castle, family home of the McPherson Grant family. Absolutely immaculate castle and gardens that's well worth a visit if you're ever in the area.

Fired up the old Mog and headed out towards Aberfoyle, then skirted Callander before turning and heading over towards Kippen and Fintry before heading home...The pic below was taken from Kippen..
The forecast was for occasional showers, fortunately seems like the weather did not consult the forecaster...?

Ballindalloch Castle was on my "possible" list when a small group of friends stayed in Montrose for a week back in June. smile

Just back from a three night stay at the LLanerchindda guesthouse (https://cambrianway.com) with my local motor club. Although we went down some very minor roads but on the whole I found the quality of the road surfacing to be much better than Devon and Somerset.

If you are looking for a short break with a club then this is a worthwhile outing with road books and a variety of routes to follow. Wednesday saw us at the excellent museum of speed at Pendine sands.

Only downside, being on my own, all the pretty sheep had been taken by the time I got there (apologies for this cheap stereotypical racist animalist jibe).

Well done getting away for a break in your three wheeler, how did the experience go compared to your Roadster say.

Thanks for the humour too rofl

I took my 4/4 and my 3 years old son. We headed forward to the valley of Tösstal, and had a nice tour to the Lake of Zürich and back home. At the lake gates opened and we got in heavy rain, but no worries, i got my oldstyle hood fast up. And we got home almost dry innocent

Another fantastic day weatherwise up in this wee corner so we took the highland tourist route again ( any excuse) and visited Charlie and Camilla's summer butt n Ben!

I do enjoy a good garden and this is certainly up there with the best!

Can't say the same for the condition of the sash and case Windows though. I left my business card incase he wants them repaired 😉

It was also a family day with an outdoor cinema and falconry display.
