Strange - another m3w welded at MMC - yet when I discussed another EU car that was supposedly had a welded in A frame at MMC, Mark Baldwin said they have never carried out any welding on any m3w at the factory....?
Yet this EU car had been returned to the factory once for the full set of upgrades (HD drive etc) back in its early years.

I have a quote for the welded in chassis bracing from MMC DSC - £250+VAT (Jan 2015). However, in the end, Mark Baldwin said it was done free of charge on the basis that no-one else had paid for it. I had the work carried out at the same time as the HD > Centa & Urban Cooling Fan upgrades so did hand over £2248 to MMC (I think they did OK out of me.....). There's a limited paper trail because the chassis brace work wasn't itemised on the receipt. thinking
The welding was incredibly neat, to the extent that some other owners were sure they'd given me a replacement (2014) chassis. However, there were enough tel-tale signs to prove this wasn't the case. I've no idea how they did it without lifting the body off the chassis. confused2

I think your find that the welded A frame tubes where they meet the chassis cross tube are not fully welded under the body section - this was my reason for asking MMC - and the lack of paperwork to you outlining this work possibly explains the complete denial by MMC of any structural welding being carried out oops

The way MMC managed the M3W escapade was appalling.
It has had long-term consequences for owners, resale values, consumer confidence and brand reputation.
