My son has a Mini Cooper S in black with orange bits.
Isn't it a colour scheme for a Porsche Cayenne Siberia or something?

Isn't it a colour scheme for a Porsche Cayenne Siberia or something? It was one of the standard colours for the Porsche 997 RS. It was then used for the Cayenne Transsyberia.

I love the fact that it's unique and not per everyone's taste. That's why we love Morgan's! So easy to go the safe route. I'm not a fan of the orange piping as I feel it is actually a bit distracting visually. I recently owned a car in this combination and to my surprised the color combo was very well received by most people. You just never know. Oddly, I find that the rock and roll color with the traditional chrome wire wheels an odd mix. I would go black on the wheels. Just to much glitter for me with paint, chrome, interior, gauges etc. To much. But love the orange/black paint.

Colour choice on a vehicle is a very personal thing. I remember going to a local centre noggin, whre all the cars were line up looking quite spendid. A woman then arrived who was going to join and gradually made her way down the line of cars. Eventually she got to my indigo blue 4/4 and said " I dont like that colour at all". Neeedless to say she was never seen again.

I love that combination, the piping and the dials are a bit much but the two tone with black interior is very tastfull imho. Problem with these things is most of us dont get to spec a car that often and its so difficult to immagine the impact of every choice while speccing. Sometimes you see cars where you think "they had too many choices and not enough guidance from a "professional". On the other hand, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and its great to see the diversity. One of the great things about this forum is that we get to see and appreciate all these combinations. (Thanks Alex) I am still very happy with my ultra classic combination (connaught with sadle and black wheels) but twice now I wished the car was dayglow orange or yellow. Other cars just dont see me sometimes. I have had two very close near misses because oncomers didnt see me and I had to go onto the sidewalk to avoid a head on, My 3.7 will be corsa red cheers JT

Hi JJW. have you seen the new option sport orange on the revised MMC web presentation? (have a look at the new brochure pdf) That could be a nice colour as well if you want more safety. I´m not sure if the new Plus8 on MMC web shows this colour or another metallic orange. Are you really thinking about changing to a 3.7 Roadster?

Hi Heinz, In my dreams yes, but in reality, I have only just got used to the 3L (mark-III Roadster) and I like it a lot. I would loose quite a bit of money changing to the 3.7 now. My plan is to wait until they are on the road for a while, see how they perform and how the classic chassis, suspension, wheels etc cope with the torque and power. Then test drive one and then decide. But I am tempted. I used to be an "add lightness" fan but since I have the Roadster I am converted to the "cant beat the cubes" church. I would not go for the sport orange until I have seen one for real. Colors are hard to judge from pictures. I would love to know what color was used on that 2-tone though. Cheers J

This orange 2006 Roadster was recently sold by SGT, if it had been equipped with alloys I could have been tempted. I believe it was featured on MMC motor show stands. black leather with orange piping, I have seen the car in the metal and it is stunning.

Is this the same orange as the orange on the two-tone though? This looks brighter (less burnt?) Cheers J
