Folks - we had a recent visit from a group of Swiss Morganeers. On arrival one of the group had the luggage rack brackets at the rear of the chassis broken. This , I know, is not the first occurrence of this and it transpired that again the bracket was not properly constructed as the actual bracket was held together by a small “dab” of weld. At a moments notice, Kirwans Gsrage took the rear bottom valance off and had the broken bracket and the other side one properly welded down both sides of the protruding part and the visitor was sent on his way very appreciativel of the service!!
As a result both I and my friend, Nick Koumarianos have had both our cars properly repaired - one of my brackets was cracked and looked about to break!! I would advise all owners of CX cars to have these brackets checked, and if the factory is reading this, please have these brackets redesigned to prevent these issues.
You have Been Warned!!!!

Looked at your breakage, Clemens- pretty much the same as our Swiss visitor - looks like all the brackets are similarly poorly constructed. I have written to Morgan protesting the poor design - not expecting a reply!!!!
cheers!

I rewelded our brackets as a safety precaution last year.. the two parts that make up each bracket were only held together by a very short single weld..

My MY23 brackets look fine, a good weld (though whether it is full-pen I couldn't tell you). Perhaps they changed the design / fabrication procedure as a result of early feedback.

My 2023, MY late 2022, is rewelded as precaution after the experiences of Clemens (CLPlusFour) as mentioned and explained by him above.
