For a couple of years now a ladies included lunch with the Great Escape Gang has been proposed. This seems to have blossomed into a twice yearly event affectionately known as Saint SWIMBO's day . Today was the second this year with the Huntingfield Arms near Halesworh in East Suffolk as the venue. Eight couples (plus Leo) attended in a mix of CX and Classic Mogs. Generally agreed as one of the best meets yet for food, company and venue. Many thanks to Fox Terrier of this parish for organising. Hopefully someone will add the group photo.

A great group picture of people enjoying their Morgans and the good company they keep. But it's also very telling like many other photographs ones see's of Morgan owners and their age profiles. Very few are youngsters most have real experiences of life. Not quite the same age profile as current Morgan marketing would have you believe.

John you are correct but we are aging disgracefully.
Please also remember we are pensioners (or as HM Gov thinks tax cash cows) and this is a Thurs lunch time. We have 2 GEG members who do something called "work" as do some of the SWMBOs.
FolkMog the local centre holds regular Noggins monthly on a Wed and at the working members request is starting a lunch time Noggin.
But certainly Mog owners to me have always generally been over 40.

Thanks for posting the great pic, nice to see folk enjoying each others company.. I am more of a solo performer and as such fired up the old Mog yesterday, and headed out on to the Cowal peninsula to cover a few miles on it`s wonderfully scenic single track roads and to grab a few pics. The old thing suffered a bit of starter motor run on, thus will need to find another relay as I suspect the contacts therein may be about to provide further run issues due to pitting. Perhaps more up to date starter relays have a diode across the contacts to inhibit the effects of back emf/sparking..? Attached pic shows a bit of the Cowal peninsula, a bit of the island of Bute, the stretch of sea is known as West Kyle, the island of Arran in the distance, and beyond that, Holy Island. I was very fortunate to also sail those waters over quite a few years...(-: ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/08/22/_DSC8016.jpg)

Nice picture of a beautiful area George. We travelled home from a four night stay on Bute yesterday! I'll put up some snaps later on.

Luddite, are you sure its not the bendix on the starter motor hanging up on the flywheel ring gear. Might just need a clean of the return spring and throw mechanism.
