With power steering, automatic transmission options, less demanding regular maintenance required, more modern more compliant and less demanding ride may be part of the solution.

For me Morgans are more than the sum of their parts, they seem to engender and open access to a much wider audience, it's the people you meet along the way that make the journey so special. So if a CX allows that journey for a while longer, there's nowt wrong with that.

I know what you mean. I came to Morgans late only buying mine on whim as it is a 4 seater. I was looking for an old classic to remind me of those far off days when rebuilding an engine or replacing a gearbox was almost common place. I wasn't sure I would keep it very long but I came across the local Mog group. A friendly lot who didn't talk cars all evening and took us in without question. I'm now in my eighties but still find my Mog fine, the only problem I have is, when getting under it to do the greasing etc, is getting back up.
It'll have to go sometime but I can't justify a CX which wouldn't fit in the garage anyway.

I swapped to CX after driving the KH WRP4. Alas MMC/BMW have locked the ECU but it is still a great car.
I have osteo arthritis in both knees & my wife also suffers. So a move to a more comfortable ride & easier maintain car has helped a lot.

John,

It just makes practical sense, you can still enjoy Morgan open air motoring.

Most bystanders can't tell the difference between a trad and a CX, and the CX overtime will set the benchmark for an easier lifestyle Morgan motoring. As I'm getting softer in my old age where getting cold or wet is not top of '' my need to do or want to be' on my enjoyment list. , Plus I don't need to feel every single bump in the road thru my spine.........to know I'm still alive, always dodging pot holes and praying it wont scrape over sleeping policemen.

. Whilst we are looking for our P6, probably be next year now autumn is here,I've got myself a nice Mercedes Coupe, with full panoramic roof and all the bells and whistles one could want. Roof fully back with the windows open and its not much different to an open top car, with great switchable road dynamics all currently set to comfort and loving it. If I want a bit of roofless rawness we use Sue's SLK which I think will be closer to the P6 road dynamics when we get one. There are some nice P6's out there at the moment, but many seem to be sticking not selling, so we are thinking of hiring a P4 from Morgan for a weekend, to see how annoying that hood frame rubbing on my shoulder can get and whether I can live with it.

I still love the feel of a trad, just not too much of a good thing at the moment.

The Plus 6 has been a challenge to sell I see, it is a wide car, great for touring. I would have one. Alas I will have to sell my 59 4/4 Competition for the space in the garage, if I had more space it would be one to keep and tinker with but I'd like something for touring and camping weekends. The Plus 4 - I didn't like the hood on the shoulder, but when I lost weight I no longer noticed it. I was going to go for a Plus 4 but my local dealer discouraged me telling me traditionals have less issues as I'd tire of the new car. I've read and heard of radiator issues, dealer mentioned hub problems, but I would have went for one, until they put me off. I'd still take a Plus 6 for the right deal, a late one, but a traditional seems much easier to live with, and is simply the same as my old 4/4 with a modern drivetrain and electrics...

Does the roadster have a galv chassis not keen on a powder coated chassis if they ever had.

In fact which trad chassis’s should be avoided?

Ideally I think I’m after a v6 as I can’t afford the cx BMWs
Thanks in advance of the info

I understand chassis protection is not model but time specific for all trad steel chassis cars. I believe the transition from galvanising to electro phoretic paint protection took place around 2009. Although it has drawbacks, on balance I would have preferred galvanising on my 2018 car.

Yes, the autophoretic coating came in a year or two before I started as a tour guide. I started the year after swmbo passed away in 2017.
Hot dip galvanising as standard came in in the late '90s, but was an option for a few years beforehand.
