I still like the ACE dashboard much more than the Morgan one.

The central mirror needs to be rather high up to be useful, but I figure that if I can row and look backwards while sliding back and forth, I can propably do with a single mirror on the steering side.

My side mirror will be convex, btw.

In the photo Aeroman shows exemplary (looks comfy!) low centre of gravity with left shoulder below rear "cockpit edge" so an ACE-style mirror would give at least some assistance, but if you want to see over the roll hops then you probably need a periscope...

Yup, he does. I like to sit up pretty straight "Land Rover-style" in a car, so I wonder where that would leave the shoulder of someone like me (if I wanted a central mirror).

Thanks guys, I'm pleased that you found the write-up interesting. Good point about the mirror Martyn, I hadn't thought of that though I guess I'll be driving it mainly on my own. For instance for the LMC, I'm taking the 3W and Head Office is driving over the Aero SuperSport with the luggage!

I had been thinking of fitting a mirror like this. However, this one could get over the shoulder height problem, being an adjustable one based on a Jaguar model. The big downside to this could be the issue of vibration that Martyn mentioned.
I think that I won't order any mirror until I've done a bit more research, once we are back from the Geneva Motorshow/France.

Now you've had some time are the bullet types mirrors no longer viable, or how about mud guard mounted mirrors?

Funny you should say that M3W, I did mean to mention it in my write-up but I found that due to the way that I slid into the seat, I found that I was submarining down the seat as I drove. After I realised what was happening, I did move myself into a more upright position, but I'm still enclosed within the bodywork as I'm not that tall in the body (or otherwise!).

On a separate issue, I've had heated seats fitted and I've gone for the Platinum package and it gives 5-different levels of heating. Not a lot to show, but I got them to fit the controls on the metal rail below the steering wheel on the drivers side.


The blue lights confirm the heated seats are on from the ignition, the red light means that the drivers seat is on maximum (5) and the orange is on (3) I think.


Nothing else to show, but the seats work well and I'm happy with them. I might add I have no connection with the Heated Seats company, other than as a satisfied customer.

As Mike has said, I think that mud guard mounted mirrors would vibrate too much. The other one that appeals to me as a central mirror is this (they also do it in black).

I think I may have to drive up to Holdens in Bromyard and do a fitting before I take the final decision!

That works well I think, but the space between the plastic aero screens is very minimal. SVC have a big selection of mirrors too, though many of them duplicate the Holden catalogue.
