I'm having a good day today with only two queries - this is the second question!

Down both nearside / offside outside vertical windscreen pillars, there's a rubber sealing strip which helps keep the rain out when hood and side-screens are employed.
The rubber strip on the offside is becoming a little detached on the bottom couple of inches and I'd like to be sure I use the best and most appropriate adhesive to 'stick it' back down again.

Grateful your thoughts - thanks.

I bought a new pair. Still have the passenger one to fit when required. They just slide into channel - no glue required.

That's interesting, my driver's side is loose for the bottom two to three inches and just flops out when reinstated.
I shall glue nothing - good job I asked.

Cheers!

On our 2020 Plus Six the long forward rubber seals on the windscreen pillars for each sidescreen are glued in place,on two sides, maybe on the later cx cars these are redesigned??. We are on our second set of seals as the originals came unglued top and bottom, I had a conversation some years back with Williams about this and they said they can be tricky to keep glued in place. With new seals I think they used a high bond double sided adhesive tape such as 3M to fix in place. I have used a very high strength carpet glue to keep the small areas that come loose located using a small spatula to apply the glue on seal and pillar.. The glue can always be softened for removal using white spirit.

Thanks Dave - that makes a lot of sense.
Hoping to visit AW on Saturday, I will ask.

Whizjet, Depends on what year your car is, If you have that flat strip of neoprene glued to the inside face of the screen pillar then that has been superseded by a much better option from around 2016 which seals and holds the side screen in place better. Available from most dealers for about £25 with self adhesive tape fitted.
