Five Star Shell was available at Cadwell Park in the paddock...............101 Octane.
Discontinued in March 1978, according to MotorSport Magazine.

just remembered 2 star leaded 90, I used to design pump stickers for Total in the 60s.before digital pumps the prices were stickers too.

Gosh jbk, my first graduate role was in the advertising and ‘visual merchandising’ department of a petrol company .
Metal blocks for newspaper/magazines and vinyl decals ( petrol pump grade & price stickers ) by the thousands . ……. After some years I was responsible for all visual aspects of their petrol forecourts and shops . These were happy youthful exuberant and excessive times for me and my Morgan was often photographed filling up !

PS still an expert at applying vinyl but sadly from a financial or collecting point of view, never kept pump globes that I had to get manufactured !!
PPS The mention of Green Shield stamps and books still make me smile. We even trialed giving away a goldfish with every 4 gallons but that story is for another day…….

Mike, one of my early stencil cutting jobs was Green shield stamp 60x40 posters dayglow green and black garish things. Like you I worked on forecourt regalia mostly screen printing. Very impressed how vinyl has transformed into such a flexible material, the material (Fasson) way back would not go around curves. Interesting being around as service stations transformed into shops and the free gift era created a lot of print work.
I had an MG TF in those days.

PS I have lots of photos and slides of forecourts in the 70s & early 80s including dayglo posters !
Instead of boring others I might just PM you some time . I worked also with Fina, Mobil, Total , Heron ,Century , Comma etc
Petrol still runs through my veins ….
