My nipper has just bought a Plus 8 aero and it has THE most hideous steering wheel. So nasty that it ruins the drive.

Anyone know if they can be swapped for something cooler??

Edited to say. It’s an airbag wheel.

This Motolita boss for Aero Plus 8 would allow your choice of matching wheel.

Sorry, just edited to say it’s an Airbag wheel

You would need to safely remove airbag but it should then fit. At chat to suppliers would confirm.

Pretty sure you can delete and then code out the airbag light, Morgan themselves fitted a non-airbag wheel to one or two of their Plus 8 Aero's (if I recall Peters old one called Tarka) - they may or may not help as its a safety modification, but I am sure a dealer could advise.

Morgan Park (Germany) used offer one which was very attractive.
Motolita, Andover way, did a selection of them which looked lovely.
You can also get it recovered by a specialist but it is already quite thick.

I believe it is an Aston item, never liked mine but was told by the MoT centre that swapping it for a non-airbag Moto would result in an MoT fail, worth a quick check before jumping.

From (bad) memory Tarka was the test for the series 5 wheel? It did have a bag in it. It was not my favourite in terms of matching the Aero Plus 8 shape but everything is personal. The Motolita looked lovely and was not criminal in terms of price.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I've seen quite a few Aeros with Mota Lita wheels fitted, including seeing one in an Aero SuperSports quite recently.

Sarah at Brands (closest for you) or Uncle Melvyn, a little further afield but a font of parts knowledge, should be able to advise.

Viper, I know you and your family are seriously into cars, but do check it out with your insurance company as they are always looking for an excuse.

The Morgan Park wheel was a BMW Z8 wheel - modified with a flat bottom to give more clearance for legs.

It is the nicest option I have seen, retains an airbag but does not work with the paddles as far as I know - but is not a low cost option !

Thanks for all the suggestions Inc MOT and Insurance.

Checked on line and from memory the Z8 wheel was circa £8k
