Instead of worrying about MSCC 75, isn't next year Talk Morgans 20th anniversary? That's worth celebrating......

BTW - DonMog are planning our own 75th celebration. Since the club started on our patch (the Flying Horse in Kegworth continued as the DonMog base long after centres formed), we reckon we are justified.

Sadly the Flying Horse is now a butchers shop and the current owners have no interest in Morgans - we have asked them. The 60th celebrations in 2011 when we held a Noggin at The Flying Horse were the last to be held there IIRC. Cost of attendance on that occasion was the price of your favourite tipple plus however much petrol it took to get there.

A straw pole this week at a centre holiday showed very few were interested in spending so much money on the event. The insistence on booking two possibly 3 days if you travel far isn't welcomed.

I just spent £1100 on four nights dinner bed and. breakfast including drinks.

I wish the mmc event well but it isn't for me.

There again I have never found recent Mogs or Mogfests great. I enjoyed meeting friends from across the uk though.

I presume that someone from the management of MSCC reads TM, I think we got a telling off a couple of months ago, I can't remember why though........😁

You would hope that some of the comments and views make their way back to the top table.......

If they want to make club events inaccessible or unappealing to club members...... the club will wither and die....🤷🏻‍♂️

Anyway.........sod em........ bring on the TM 20th celebrations...🥳🥳🥳🥳....!!!!!

That's a curious transition, I thought traditional butchers were more of an endangered species than pubs.

I've never asked, but I'd hope my own local butcher would show more interest.

But Ian remember somepeople like the Mog events and for any event a lot of hard work by someone goes on
The Dutch club do great events but only every 10 years. Maybe quality vs quantity is the trick.

I would hope any club would have broad enough shoulders and be open to any constructive criticism.

Having organised events in the past relating to Harleys, it is often a thankless task, in which you can never please everyone, you have to recognise that few people want to get involved beyond their own participation in the event itself.

So basically you are often onto a hiding to nothing, so accept it for what it is.and take solace in you have done your bit but don;t expect your efforts to necessarily always be recognised or rewarded beyond what you put into the event itself,.

But it often gives you the opportunity to influence the way the event schedule pans out to your own preferences, which for many is the reward in itself..
