After a long hiatus, I am back on the best Mog Forum I have found. I have a 2011 Plus4 and I am in Australia. After having been absent for along time, I find the old regulars are still here and some not doing so well (JTL) Took the Grandson for a short 160k ride yesterday and on the way home I got a massive smell of fuel and the engine cut out. By deduction I figured it was the fuel pump or a hose near it. Started dismantling this morning, and found one of the plastic hose mounts on the top of the fuel pump had broken. As this is a moulded feature I guess it is a whole new fuel pump required (MPS0886). Can anyone point me in the right direction to purchase one at the best price or if there is a pump that is a straight replacement I.e Ford part. Not looking forward to having to drop tank to do this.
Thanks Graeme

Thanks Gary, I do know where there is one similar but they can’t be pinched or removed easily.(or quietly).🤭

Hi Graeme, had exactly the same issue on my plus 4. One of the plastic pipe connections snapped and fuel everywhere. I had a local chap do mine, he took the pump out and found a part number which matched that used on a range of fords and massively cheaper than the Morgan part. I can't recall what the number is but worth searching as not only cheaper but available off the shelf. He did use a great deal of profanity in doing the job as what looked initially simple did involve dropping the tank slightly. Good luck Steve

My car is a 2005 Plus 4. I had the fuel pump replaced while touring in Spain. The part used was from a Mk 3 Ford Mondeo, reference number 1375223. The tank wasn’t dropped to enable the replacement. Later cars may be different.

Thanks Steve, noticed yours is a GDI, not sure if the pump is the same or not, I will definitely look around. Lot more Fords in Oz than Morgan’s.

Yep done that, booked in for last week in October ( gives me a chance to obtain a second mortgage)😂 I have done the preliminary dismantle, but need a hoist to drop the tank. Told Dave I would source the pump to save him time.

Thanks Ken, I have the 2.0 litre Duratec in mine, it would be nice if they used a Ford pump.

Graeme, mine is a 2.0L Duratec so presumably the same pump. To access the pump the mechanic used a small ratchet wrench with a screwdriver bit to remove the woodwork from the top of the tank. MMC weren’t very helpful when I asked for the part number. The mechanic was brilliant. He’d never worked on a Morgan before, but worked out how to remove the pump, found the part number and had it sent overnight from Valencia.
