While the engine is out of my car I thought it would be a good idea to replace the clutch, but I'm having difficulty finding the right parts. The car is a 1970 4/4 with the original Kent crossflow engine, and a 5 speed sierra gearbox. The pressure plate (or cover) doesn't have any numbers on it, and the driven plate has 57734 on one side and 57735 on the other, but I think they refer to the individual components of the plate rather than the whole thing. The numbers quoted on Gomog in Mike Pullen's article don't mean anything to my local motor factor so I suppose are just out of date. In fact I probably only need to replace the driven plate which is 190mm diameter with 23 splines, but the best I've been offered so far is a complete kit with that plate plus a pressure plate which will be wrong. The motor factors computer systems aren't set up to deal with problems like this which is hardly surprising, so if anyone can help with any sources or up to date part numbers I'd really appreciate it. I popped the numbers from Mikes instructions into google and it brought up several purchasing options:
Clutch Plate - 83 BB 7550 DA Pressure Plate - 83 BB 7563 AA
Both for the 190mm

Burton power are a good company, make sure you get the correct clutch for your engine gearbox combination.

Tim's link list Morgan 4/4 1.6 1968 on, so given it also lists correct diameter and splines and mentions type 9 5 speed box as fitted to Sierra. Would have thought that clinched it.

I got mine from Burton a couple of years ago. Just right. since I had it apart, I replaced the stock flywheel with a lighter one they sell. I could tell the difference.
Before I put it in, I had the flywheel and clutch assembly balanced.

It should be listed as a for a 1.6 Ford Sierra, also a Hillman Avenger clutch plate will fit.
In fact, there is absolutely no difference between a Borg and Beck plate for a 1 6 Sierra and a Hillman Avenger!!
