Yes the spinners tend to tighten when in use as that's what they are designed to do ie. not undo when being driven. So they are quite tight and unless you have the correct tool for the euro octagonal type you really would struggle. They are a common size and fit other cars like MG but I haven't heard of wheels being nicked!

Keep your eyes on the for sale here as sets often pop up and ebay usually has some. Don't just jump for a tatty set as they all sell at around the £100 or less so wait for a good set!

Blimey, I should have hung onto my spare set rather than letting them go with my 4/4.

Oh yes Graham!

I have the euro style fitted to mine as I have fabricated a spanner that is clipped to the spare wheel carrier rear vertical surface. Mine originally had the three eared spinners but I imagined a dark and stormy night on the moors and trying to get a wheel changed by torch light whilst flailing a hammer close to my super-formed wing and stainless wheel spokes with the torch held in my teeth! Naa! don't think so, so I went for the sensible option. Oh the spinners look great and If I'm the one who ever sells her I'll add the eye candy back on, not many have them and they are about £90 each!
