Cheers all.
I think I'll bring her home and offer it for a few grand less.

Hope that wasn't a Morgan? Choose your selling 'dealer' wisely. Peter, I agree with your comments

Well, she's now home safe and sound - and the performance has improved with a bit more enthusiastic driving.
Still for sale, sadly, but now for £28,000!

Deposit taken!
When the buyer collects, I will point him in the direction of this forum because, whilst I'll still visit from time to time, you've all been very welcoming and helpful in my short period of ownership.
Now, what's next car or bike?

Advancing years on BMW bike and too many close calls saw me do it the other way round and take the safer option into my 4/4 ... I love the wood dashboard on yours - How easy or hard is it to change - I am ok with making my own but has anyone out there swapped their colored dash for real wood ?

I believe that sor cars are used by dealers generally to push cars that they have already paid for - after all from a dealer point of view it's free floor candy. This is certainly true in the music instrument world. However, I have known three separate people who have sent their cars to Brands Hatch Motors and been treated very fairly. The cars have sold quickly and for a very reasonable charge. They seem most honourable. Obviously I've no connection with them; I've not even bought a car from them. nick
