Scenic Car Tours have set the pricing and are underwriting the whole event and; “MSCC will not make any money from this venture”…”but, equally, will not lose any money”. At present 75 rooms have been sold. Packages have been taken up by a small number from the USA, New Zealand, Poland, Germany and Belgium. 21 packages have been sold to our French Morganeers; this represent 36 people. Once the French packages are paid for the event is then deemed to be ‘viable’. And that above breakdown represents 180 people.
That is from the Centre’s secretary meeting this week ! Also they feel offering day tickets would upset the oversea buyers who have paid the high prices . I've attended events with Mogs in Le Mans, Angouleme, Spa, Luxembourg, etc and have never had a problem that the locals can just pop in with a day ticket at £1000's less then our trip cost...that's life and it makes the event inclusive An MSCC event should be inclusive of ALL members, even if you just admire (and maybe don't own) but are an MSCC member and want to pop in for the day

Mine hasn't so much lapsed as I wrote declining to renew. I did something similar - emailed and said "please don't auto renew this year". Had an email back saying they'd cancelled the dd order and that correspondence would now end. Thought it was quite telling - even when I unsubcribe from an email newsletter I get asked a few questions about why I no longer want to receive it. MSCC obviously weren't that bothered.

The MSCC annual event open day should be for anyone with a day ticket / free not just MSCC members as it opens up the brand to non members / enthusiasts. It’s a shame Brooklands wasn’t better supported by the dealer network / suppliers as would have been a great showcase event for those interested in Morgan’s even if they aren’t yet owners.

This will be my last years membership, no more calendars after this year just an uninteresting magazine. Maybe I missed something, but why devote several pages to reports of people I don't know in pubs I've never heard of in regions I never visit.... and never a pic of their cars....

Exactly why I prefer our casual meets on TM such as a few of us enjoy down here and the one's Phil has organised for next year you know exactly who you are going to share Morgan time with, not a random gathering of gastronomes

If one of them had anything about them they'd respond on here........ come on.......... one of you......... To be fair TM is not associated with MSCC. The club has posted several responses on the MSCC's official forum, which any club member can access. Some of the replies have been repeated above. One of the defences is that nobody was willing to step up and volunteer to organise an alternative, which may be a fair point.

Organising the Mog was always challenging, even as far back as my first NCM, which was sometime in 2010 as I recall. It needs a local group to do the legwork, supported by the Committee. It usually worked out well but was often a bit nail-biting. That's when I found out that if you wear a Hi-Vis, it's imposiible to even get to the toilet without being stopped for advice. Happy days. The best Mogs have taken place at established venues, the factory is obvious. Gaydon was good but not a full blown Mog. The TM Gaydon event was nearly as big. Beaulieu is fantastic although we didn't make it this year. Brooklands for Northerners was a bucket list tick. The hotel based Mogs have less 'features' but Harrogate worked well, as did the one Buxton and in Norfolk. All had day tickets.
