Hi All I'm sure many of you will know about this device already and some may find my ineptitude amusing, but for other people like me who find holding and pressing the grease gun connector onto the nipple when greasing the king pins a pain, this device is a god send. Being able to grease the king pin one handed is sheer luxury. I had to buy an adaptor male BSPT to female NPT to fit it to the grease gun but it was all worthwhile. I got both items from ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/395076107663 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285311742073?var=587854385804![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/11/21/20251121_134510.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/11/21/20251121_134519.jpg) Regards Tony

The clip on greasing device is same as mine. Fitted straight on the hose fitted to my electric grease gun. Highly recommended, its never leaked and of course quick and easy to remove

I bought a Wanner grease gun in my teens, it can apparently generate very high pressures and as such the connector locks on to the grease nipple to the extent that there is a bleed screw that can be used to depressurise the feed line if required, to release the connectors grip on the nipple if required.. I took it for granted that most grease guns would operate similarly... I was obviously wrong, yet again.. Every day has potential to be a school day. Thanks.

A grease guns bleed screw is to let trapped air out from within grease usually after a refill, not to release any pressure. TBH just releasing the gun lever takes away any pressurising on this incompressible medium. The fact that a grease gun locks onto a matching nipple is by way of needed mechanical design. A twisting action at an angle to the nipple usually releasing.
If you haven't used one before George suggest trying one of the quick release attachments. They only work with flexible pipes though which in itself can aid the attachment process. Exceptions are greasing points in difficult locations - I'm thinking of forward propshaft UJ's which can be hard to even see never mind grease.

I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago and wish I had known about it forty years ago! meabh me to !! Richard I have just checked and surprisingly the outside diameter of the adaptor is 0.25mm less than the original connector. I use a different grease for the uj's and hence a different grease gun. The connector on that gun has an even larger diameter and I could not get it into the restricted space between the knuckles so I replaced the grease nipples with long reach ones they are M6 and 23mm long, see link. On the subject of greasing the uj's my understanding is they have rubber o ring seals and I am always a little nervous about pumping to much for fear of bursting the seals. When greasing the kingpins I simply pump until the grease starts to ooze out of the joint. When greasing the uj's any recommendations on how to insure you have pumped enough grease without damaging the seals? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233642984589Regards Tony

One of these plus the remote greasing lines mean no more crawling around underneath, a must for old goats like me.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

If you don't look underneath, there is a grave danger of excess grease spilling onto the brake discs. It is surprising how much builds up from normal suspension action, even prior to re-greasing.

Then clean off excess. Maybe a gentle steady application rather than a forceful blast is safer. (As a student in the early 70s, I once drove my Triumph Herald from Bristol to Brighton and part way along the M4, the prop shaft started to rattle quite loudly, but I carried on! When I inspected the next day, the front u/j was blue and completely devoid of any bearings at all…just the central spider! Looking back, would I still be here if the prop. had actually let go and a “pole vault” ensued.)
