I have a serious enquiry from a collector (who has a Plus 8 and has had an Aero in the past) in Canada for my S1 but ideally he would like it converted to LHD. Any ideas as a specialist has indicated may no longer me so easy due to parts such as dash and steering rack (should imagine VW headlights not so much of an issue). Can't believe how market has turned as now have my car down to £38k. Cheers Drew

To my knowledge the S1 was never released in LHD so you are on an uphill struggle?
S1 specific stuff like the half dashboard is unlikely to exist as a result.
Packaging in the engine bay is going to make it a bit more than fun.
S2 was built for the US market and so in LHD configuration, but very low numbers. It also had the Beetle squint but a fatter boot lid.
You would stand a lot more chance going for a US Series 2 LHD if it is LHD you need?
I think we are talking less than 10 LHD series models that escaped over there?

I think we are talking less than 10 LHD series models that escaped over there? All very sensible advice. If they buyer is seriously interested, they'd be more sensible to keep it as is, unless they live in Quebec or PEI, which prohibit the use of RHD cars on public roads.

Wow. As much as you can say these things for certain I would say Series 1. The way it swipes up towards the edge on the non wheel side indicates the "half dash shape". Of course finding all the other bits to move the steering wheel etc could prove more entertaining but quite the find! Sorry I had to remove my foot from my mouth to say that - always happy to be proven wrong!

Interestingly Morgan did a LHD S1 dashboard, I am sure I have seen a LHD car as well - trying to find a pic.
