I'm planning to buy a Plus Four soon, a 2023 model with driver and passenger airbags.
Do you advise me to remove the airbags? I'm worried it might cause a problem with homologation...🧐

I think you have good reason to be worried - I would check with your insurance company first as they like an excuse not to pay out.

I have no idea what the European regulations are, but I believe here in the UK it is illegal to remove or 'prevent from functioning' the airbag(s) from a vehicle which was originally made with them in. At the very least you would fail the MOT test, would possibly be prosecuted, and (as +8Rich says) your Insurers would gleefully refuse any claim (even if it's not your fault).

If you don't want the airbags then consider buying the MY22 or earlier model. It just won't have the traction control fitted. I prefer the earlier dash layout as it allows the use of a wood steering wheel as there are no air bags fitted complicating the issue, IMHO all the polished wood making it a very traditional looking interior

Why remove a safety feature.

John where did you get the wheel & boss ? What did you pay? Does it make it harder getting in and out as it isn't flat at the bottom?

John,

It was fitted from new at the factory, its on the Morgan MY22 price list .I'm not a small ;frame and long legged even with the hood up, its not always graceful but I can get in and out without too much of a problem (with the seat fully back) with that steering wheel. I'm sure either Morgan or a dealership might be able to get hold of the boss and wheel. The wheel has a really nice feel to it and finishes off the car for me, you hardly notice the incongruous auto gear stick as its lost in all the polished wood.

Although marked out of stock here is a link to the boss cost £550 https://morgan-kent.com/product/cx-models-steering-wheel-boss/

The option was £895 at the factory.

A group from LogMog went to visit Moto Lita recently, I wasn't with them but my question for them "when will you have a wheel / boss combination that includes an airbag" was asked on my behalf. Their response was that they are in dialogue with MMC to provide this solution. Hopefully it will be able to be retrofitted to existing CX cars, not just new P4's and SS's.
