Hi,
These tools came in the handbook pouch of my Plus Six. Are they factory, what are they for? The spanner is imperial, 3/8 and 7/16.

Page 45 in the manual shows the 2 things on the left are used to select neutral when the car will not start. There should be a hole in the undertray to access the gearbox lever.

Jon, that's not in my manual / 'owners handbook'. Mine is V1.1 May 2023.

I have the same two left hand tools, and also no idea what they do or how to use them. The handbook for my P6 is the same as Mart's, there's nothing mentioned. I leave them at home, and had forgotten about them until this thread popped up. I don't have the spanner, but I know what to do with it pantsdown

They are to disengage the auto box for towing. The spanner I guess is to disconnect the battery if needed to "reboot" the car.
I have a manual but if I had an auto I'd keep them with me

Thanks John.

I'll check to see if my P6 has a hole cut in the undertray. i wonder why we have the tools if the manual for MY23 cars (and beyond) no longer has the appropriate instructions.

I have the square hole, I have the tools. No idea why the owners manual for my car doesn’t tell the owner what the tools are for, let alone how to use them, but I will carry them with me from now on.

Thanks John,

P.S. I wonder what BMW owners do?

It's not a Morgan, so they don't break down innocent

Perhaps BMW drop the 'box disengage tools under the boot tray with the jack etc but nobody looks
