Another one bits the dust, Chris rea has left the stage, his double album Dancing down the stony road was a brilliant departure from his more Soft rock songs, if you haven't heard it try to give it a chance.

Sad news today that Chris Rea has passed away aged 74. I remember speaking to him at Castle Combe Race circuit and he was interested in my then Caterham 7 and he told me that he still had his, which was featured on his album cover Auberge. R.I.P.

Very sad news indeed. For me Stainsby Girls was a great song and Gonna Buy a Hat will always be remembered for a great song with the most bizarre lyrics. And a great supporter of cleaning up our rivers - a truly good human being. RIP sir.

One of my favourites singers. He’d been through the wringer health wise and I admired how he dealt with it. Lovely music. RIP

A great talent lost. Life seems so unfair sometimes - my Dad died at a similar age. RIP Chris.

Many years ago I accidently bought (on line) his Blue book, best buy I ever made. Saw him recently on TV talking about his health issues on gone fishing with Bob Mortimer it's amazing he survived so long but thankfully he did. RIP Chris you will be missed.

Great musician and a lovely sincere guy. Road to Hell one of my all time favorites .

He went through some very tough health issues.

Great clip when he met up with Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse on an episode "Gone fishing "

Lovely video - thank you for sharing.

We were lucky enough to see Chris Rea live at the NEC many years ago, The music was great. He was a very understated performer - no leaping about.
