Hello All,
Looking for your thoughts on installing remote greasing kits. Do they work? Are they reliable? Pros & Cons.

Thankyou, Best wishes for the New year

I got mine from Cain @Wolf. They work very well. Far easier to grease but you still need to kneel down to remove the excess & do the spanner check.

The Plus 8 is one shot oiler and hand greasing bottom end - but our Sons 4/4 Sport came fitted at 115,500 miles and works very well provided you check for excess and tighten everything up down there as John said.

I will say the SSL modification Jeremy had done on Henrietta is a good front end modification.

Depends what year your car is and era of front suspension or if your older Kingpins have been drilled to accept grease from the top if not then grease will not flow through. If older suspension without modification then just make sure the bottom grease reservoir is kept full.

When i brought my MOG back in 2001, it had a remote greasing kit set up. But the thing is the nipples were located in the engine bay. But here is the thing, as you pump away you not too sure how much grease you are pumping. When i rebuilt my MOG, i removed them. Far better to jack the front of the car up and get underneath so you can pump just the right amount, on all the grease points.

Happy New Year

When I had my 4/4, I fitted the remote grease nipple blocks in the engine bay, (easier to connect & pump) I stopped pumping when I heard the first pop sound. As others say you still need to get underneath to clean off the excess grease, but I never needed to jack up the front end, whereas before I had to jack the car up to get the grease gun fixed on. I fitted the swivel type underneath purchased from Cain at Wolf Performance.

Hello Craig,

Did the manifolds come with kits ?

Your Morgan engine bay looks spotless, keep up the good work.

I considered but decided not to fit. It seems a long way for grease to flow reliably. And I probably only grease twice a year. My car (1997 Plus 8 ) has standard suspension, which I like to jack slightly to ensure the grease gets in under the damper blades. My car also has a grease nipple on the top of the strut, but in all honesty, it is not really worthwhile greasing that point as the grease really doesn't flow down that route.
