Just a thought, but under the cover won't the wheel still be bolted to the mounting plate (3 wheel nuts.) assuming it is an alloy wheel.

On my Plus8 the wheel sat on a metal "frame" and the centre bolt had a centering disc that fitted into the wheel centre, through to a threaded hole in that frame. Thus centering and holding the wheel in place. No other bolts. There was a steel plate on that frame and the wheel sat on that so where it contacted the plate is where it might be sticking. If the wheel hasn't been removed for a long time then it could end up sticking. One good idea is to rotate the wheels periodically so you use the spare rather than leave it age and detriorate.

I have the self-same arrangement - same wheel, same cover. Mine is always as tight as h*ll to remove - just needs a lot of wiggling and brute force to shift it (hands at 4 & 8 O'clock). The great news? It's even harder to get it back in - especially if you've got the 16" wheel - which is d**n heavy. Best of luck!

Hey guys,
I am attempting to remove the spare tire at the back of my plus 8. I’ve done a search but I find nothing that refers to process.
I’ve removed the bolt holding the luggage rack and the spare tire and then removed the luggage rack. No problem. Next I have attempted to remove the cover on the spare tire. I can see no obvious way to remove it. The cover is tight around the tire and I see no way to loosen it. The lamp at the top is keeping the tire and cover from coming out.
What am I missing?
Richard Hi Richard, I have the Morgan Factory Lightweight alloys i.e. the one's with the centre lock nut, the wheels are 16 "X 7" and like yours I have a rack on the back and a mohair elasticated wheel cover which is a good fit so needs a little persuasion once you have removed the wheel by undoing the Tee Bar and lifting the wheel from the bottom side of the well and then you will find it will clear the Cobra lamp quite effortlessly as you lift it towards you tilting the top downwards and lifting it clear at the bottom until it clears.. The cover is then removed fairly easily. I am ex boxing and Rugby (in former years) and at 105Kgs find this fairly effortless as long as you don't rush it tbh, so good luck.

It's most likely stuck to the backplate, tuck a thin towel into the bottom edge to protect the paint and give the lower part of the spare a sharp TUG towards you, simples

You need to peel the cover off from the bottom and expose the three nuts that clamp the wheel to its mounting bracket. Remove the nuts and lift the wheel out. The T bar just holds the luggage rack in place really.

Richard if you have wires then the removal of the wheel will be just the same as mine in my earlier post
The Tee Bar is the only retention mechanism for the rack and wheel.
There is a stepped alloy spacer which sits in the centre of the spare wheel to facilitate this and centralise everything.
