In my MG days, one of the concours regulars was an air traffic controller, and a busy airport. There were odd occasions when I would need to call him, and it was OK to call him at work.
What was un-nerving was that I could hear the comms going on in the background, and he would flip from me to some plane and back.......crackle crackle "level off at x feet, heading x degrees".....crackle crackle.....yeah so where were we?......................
Absolutely true story. He's retired by the way.
