To repair my old damaged flywheel, I bought a used MX5 ND flywheel with 20,000 km. I machined the toothed ring before disassembling it so that it would fit perfectly onto the TW flywheel. To finish the assembly, I will use laser welding to avoid softening the metal of the toothed ring.

Return of the flywheel after laser welding; the advantage of the laser is the hardness of the metal it deposits and the lack of modification of the assembled metals; it is even possible to weld synchronizing teeth onto gears without softening the metal.
