Got at trip to the Alps planned for June and we are using the car train from Düsseldorf to Innsbruck. Now Düsseldorf has a “Clean Air Zone” and I am not sure where my 2002 4/4 with the 1.8 Ford Zetec comes in the Emissions Standards. There seems to be a view that 2001 - 2006 vehicles are likely to be classed as Euro Standard 3 (bad news if it is), but just wondering if anyone has any experience/knowledge of this ?

Well Chris, glad to know you are planning an Alps trip.- Interesting car train journey - hope you are coming near Slovenia We sometimes for fun go via Innsbruck onto Zell am See (fond memories) and down to Bad Gastein for a train through the mountains on low loaders and then towards Villach.
I know you have been to Bohinj but next time do the car train from their through the mountain towards Mosti/Kobarid & the Brdo wine area...it’s like a Disney ride with people sat in their cars flashing mobile lights and singing !
We are there at the weekend to hopefully ski with new knee but last weekend we did a day trip to Somerset and through your village. Put my nose on the window at New Elms. Could not get a table at any of the Sunday pubs/ restaurants , I think OAPs were taking out their wives or potential brides ( over 65 big at getting re married) the day after valentines….

Junction 8 to 9 closed on the M3 causing an issue on the 303 , which was a pain along with heavy rain.

Best regards MM

From Google search...........
AI Overview
A 2002 Morgan 4/4 equipped with the 1.8-litre Ford Zetec engine generally complies with Euro 3 emissions standards. While some 2001-2006 vehicles in this class may be classified as Euro 3, this engine, which produced roughly 113-123 bhp in standard applications, is typically not Euro 4 compliant, which can affect entry into specific low-emission zones.

Good afternoon.
I do live in Düsseldorf.
You should get a green placard without any issues. The green one allows you to move your car within the entire city.
If you 'forget' to apply for the emission certificate the fine is 80,00 € + processing fees. Total will be 120,00 € ish.
You can order the placard online even without having a permanent residence in Germany. Link attached (I hope that works).

Evening everyone and thanks for the input. We’ll have just submitted the application and payment so hopefully all will go smoothly. Thanks for the update Mike - take it easy on the slopes ! Schorsie - thanks for the info, we are catching the Urlaubs Express on 19 June as time is limited for some of the group. Reviews are pretty mixed but it serves a purpose. Burgundy or - very interesting. I checked the V% which only details 0.025g N.O.x so hopefully all good.

My 2003 1,8-litre Ford Zetec 4/4 is Euro 4 compliant.
