Here's a picture of the exhaust on my Plus Four
It forms an X shape
But for some reason I don't know, after the X there are four more lines before reaching the rear muffler. I don't understand why, unless it's to raise the height of the exhaust :

My understanding is the need for enough flow rate would require a single pipe of diameter that would protrude below the chassis rail (as in Nestor's photo above) so the Factory used multiple pipes of smaller diameter that give the overall mm2 required

I wonder if the large, transversely mounted silencer is filled with soundproofing material or empty.
That U-shaped piece of pipe is very unusual; it's the first time I've seen it.
