Yes you can remove the bottom section of the door card (to get to the interior door handle mechanism) quite easily - its just a question of removing a number of visible screws, the door pull and the hex head screw from the handle assembly itself. The only minor difficulty with the bottom section of the door card being the screw nearest the hinge which overhangs the running board and requires a very short screwdriver. But in my case it is the section of card above that, that is reluctant to come off. As John V6 has advised, perhaps I will have another go using more force.

Thank you for your advice John. I will have another go using more force. You didn't mention it, so I am presuming the retaining clips or plug or whatever they are, came away with the card and were intact and reusable, rather than being sacrificial and needing a fresh fixing?

Thanks. Now I can see what I am dealing with - friction plugs. I guess the wooden frame into which they secure can swell and grip them tight. Anyway I will attack them with renewed resolve later today!
