From Garage to Grid follows my journey forming a privateer race team, Aspect Racing, to compete in the Morgan Challenge a one make race series for Morgan motor cars. Aspect Racing, a team created through conversations, friends and family, a meeting of minds and shared passion for engineering and motorsport. This channel exposes the months of hard work and problem solving that goes into preparing a car and driver to race for the first time. New episodes will arrive every couple of weeks, following the high's and lows, frustrations, laughs, and triumphs as the team lead up to our first racing campaign in 2026.
I'm looking forward to a presentation on the technical aspects and preparations..
Yep, me too.
I have it on good authority that 1972 was the best year for Morgans.....
and we well know that Yellow ones are the fastest! 😜
They certainly are (although mine has a new home). Realised watching the video I recognised the car Look forward to further updates and maybe getting to an occasional race meeting. I think the last meeting I saw you at was a sprint at Castle Combe, oh so long ago!

Yep - that's right... the Castle Combe track day back in 2017! OMG that was soo long ago.
Even the super spec helmet I had at the back end of racing is out of certification and I'm having to get a new one (well new everything 🤦♂️)
I think the middle age dad bod would have meant new kit... .. but at least my bum can still get in the seat.. ha!

What capacity is the BDA?
Dave.
I would love to say it was a BDA... it's a 2000 cc Zetec E Blacktop... it's about as close to a BDA (well BDG) as you can get without it actually being the real thing... I would love to put an alloy blocked BDG into this car sometime in the future.. but for now this engine is hugely cheaper and more modest in power.
Get it
Retro Ford Zetec 'BDA replica' cam cover, it looks ace
The launch of the new channel has gone so well... thank you everyone for taking a look and sharing with your friends.
I've put together a few bitesize episodes... and looking at the footage I already have we are likely to move to weekly episodes to get through them all.
Episode 1 will be out later this week and will get stuck into the car
The First week of the new channel has been a bit of a whirlwind... learning how all the YouTube analytics and dashboarding works... and getting feedback on what to improve - it's all been great.
I'm pleased that it's had such a warm welcome and as promised here is Episode 1.....
