Even with the distortion, that looks far more sturdy to me than the original! thumbs

Hi everyone,

A quick update on my Plus Four 75th. I’ve just passed 2,600 km and tomorrow it’s going in for its first control check inspection. It’ll be about a 400 km round trip in one day.

They’re planning to fix the hood Tenax fastener, although they weren’t very confident they’d be able to do it confused2 (it’s a new Morgan dealership and the first time they’ll be doing this job, so I’m a bit nervous… we’ll see). This dealership is a Swiss one (I live in France) since it’s the closest one for me.

At first, Morgan didn’t want to cover the hood Tenax under warranty, which I can understand since the issue was technically my fault. However, my actual dealership where I bought the car (not the one I’m visiting tomorrow) decided to cover the cost themselves, which I really appreciate.

The only other thing I’d like them to check is a squeaking noise that seems to come from the suspension. The more I drive the car, the more I notice it. It’s especially noticeable at very low speeds and when the car is cold. Have any of you experienced something similar? Is it normal?

Other than that, the car is still absolutely fantastic to drive. With the sun finally coming out and temperatures rising, I’m enjoying it more and more every day.

Mine sometimes squeaks but it goes away. Just enjoy it & drive it like you stole it.

The Tenaxes are a weak point whenraising/ lowering the roof. The sequence to use is....
Raising...they are the last bit to fit.
Lowering....they are the first to release.
Mine broke when this sequence was missed. They were plated brass so not the strongest. It is possible to drill out the bit stuck but takes care. You then plug the now empty hole, drill a pilot hole and screw in a new fitting. You MUST do a pilot hole to reduce the force needed to screw in the new part! If not then the new part could easily break as you apply the force to screw it in. I simply replaced mine with two screw versions with the "button" part in the correct place over where the originals were.
Masking tape as a buffer, position the replacement cheking level to ground, mark where the holes are, drill slowly, get/make a gasket for between the fitting and panel to protect the paint, fix with stainless screws.
Then get into the habit of correct sequence for raising/lowering!

I also had the squeaking noise for the first 10,000 km or so. Then it disappeared.

I amazed that in 2026 someone in the Morgan world hasn't had a batch of tenax studs machined in stainless steel or even titanium..........🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
I'm sure they'd sell like hot cakes.......!!!!!!!
Everyone has them.... everyone worries about them breaking........ or pulling out of the panel.....!!🤷🏻‍♂️
It surely can't be difficult in these days of 3d printing and cnc machining......

Then you end up ripping the hood! If the correct sequence isn’t followed, something, somewhere has to give.
Better if Morgan designed it such that a sequence was unnecessary.
