Just read the BBC article on this. Mentions unfavourable leases and various other factors. Starting to wonder what the real story is.

One of my Saturday jobs as a kid - working the big Multistorey in Worcester by the Cathedral. Early Saturday morning was usually spent collecting all the debris left by Friday night revellers who'd take advantage of its secluded nature smile

With the outrageous sums charged by these car parking firms I find it hard to believe that one of the biggies has gone bust.......🤷🏻‍♂️

I read that earlier today and was a bit of a shock. Certainly in London driving habits have changed, More people now find public transport easier and cheaper to travel into town. We always used to go into London by car, park on the street or car park/NCP . Saturdays & Sundays were charge free , John Lewis, Selfridges, Knightsbridge shopping, lunch or evening meal. Now a high cost (£18?), 7 day Congestion charge puts us & many drivers off . We just find it easier, quicker and whilst it’s free for us, that is not why we travel by tube or train . Never use those free ‘red taxis’ though…....

Just over a week ago we went to three south London areas. . Everyone who met us all travelled by public transport. Travelling around, there and back, just so easy , even for those out of towners.

We now only seem to drive ‘when leaving’ London, or on special occasions when we take foreign or country friends out at night, across Waterloo Bridge to see London lights and sights.
NCP administration is a sign of our times and is not surprising upon reflection

And another ‘household name’- Close Brothers - a bank. They were big in the printing world. You borrowed the money to buy your Heidelberg and other presses , few questions asked as the asset held its price .
They are shedding 25% of their staff , 600 people to lose their job over the next year +, down to their exposure to the car financing compensation claims.
So if you want your £600 ? or so money back, even though we all knew about commissions , someone will lose their job !
Sure Ai will also have been a reason , so no need to feel too bad !
MM
PS An extended family member with a small but highly profitable company has outsourced/offshored most of his office functions to the Philippines and Ai ……troubles ahead ?!

I must agree, tube, train and bus plus a fair bit of walking are the only sensible way to get around in our wonderful capital, and you get to chat to many interesting people and see great things, keep the car for the countryside, oops, Liebour wouldn't like that!!

Here for a good time not a long time!!

My local ATS has just turned into a Kwik Fit overnight. I don't know what they're like with tyres but they certainly live up to their name when it comes to workshops.
