Great Escape Group jolly for lunch at the Maybush pub, Waldringfield on the Deben estuary. Could almost have been mid-Summer.

I did say that if she paid for breakfast she could sit in the passenger seat rather than being dragged. Always the gentleman.

Remembering back to fuel rationing in the 70`s and that I am past my mid 70`s, given the current situation in the Gulf, and that unusually the sun has been shining here for a few consecutive days I thought to best to not waste time and get out there to fire up the old Mog....Click... Hoisted by my own petard..! Despite that I check the Ctek daily to ensure it is performing it`s task, though in truth I have been wondering how many years ago did I last replace the battery, I thought perhaps five, but might have been eleven ish...!!!

So it was back to filling up potholes in the road for another day. Received confirmation that the replacement battery had arrived and picked it up yesterday, left it on the Ctek overnight, and fitted it this morning, not identical, though matching numbers, thus requiring some future improvement to the hold down frame, but made it fit securely enough for now ,as the good weather is about to break.

turned the key, the fuel pump ticking to prime the carbs then stopped when the carbs were full, another twist of the key and the old thing burst into life, what joy to hear the awakening bark from the exhaust. (-: Hard to believe this will be my first Morgan run this year,

Fortunately the roads were very quiet this slightly frosty morning circa 08:00, I expected to see a keen cyclist or two as I headed out to Aberfoyle, over the Dukes pass and into the Trossachs, an towards Callander, turn towards Kippen, on to Fintry, up over the Campsie Fells, down to Lennoxtown, Strathblane on towards Dumgoyne, to complete the circa 90 mile ring onto the Stockiemuir RD and home...Traffic seemed to be building up on the homeward leg, but boy what a wonderful way to start a day.. Ashamed to say that I was enjoying the drive so very much that I did not even grab a pic of the wonderful scenery that was all around as the sun was breaking through the mist in numerous places... Sorry. The old thing did not miss a beat, what a wonderful engaging driving machine, on roads such as those I am most fortunate to belessed with in my locality... What`s more to want...?

Went to the petrol pump this morning. As go I by the distance clocked and not by the fuel-left-tendency-indicator built in … i always try to hold her long distance ready iso - look-for-a-gasstation-before-u-go.. as a slight advantage, there is a fuel provider without that E5/E10 #@*^:$ just down the road. After i put full fuelweight onto the rear axle and left the pump… a real miracle did happen. An unresitable force made me to turn left iso turn right to get her home … make a long story short >>> with blue blue sky above and some snow on the mountain tops we were shattering the road for almost 120 miles.. made me to rejoin the same pump later in the afternoon before reaching the parking-residence…

I love that car ..

Fine little 75 mile sunny spin round some cracking back roads ... still a bit nippy but stopped by my mate Rab's place to view his latest bit of bike-whispering, drink tea and gossip ... very pleasant afternoon all in all!
