Anyone interested in buying my lovely red 4/4 80th - purchased from Dan at Crazy Horse last month but I really need 4 seats and a 4/4 4 seater is what I need. Would really love to have both - but need to cut my cloth.

I have to agree with this, I had a lovely 4/4 80th anniversary car but although it was great fun I missed the shear grunt of my jaguar engined cars so I traded it with Krazy Horse for a brilliant Krazy Horse special 3.7 V6, even more fun!!!
Rise and shine Brits, there’s an extra hour of life to enjoy! Just in case there’s someone considering this car but put off by the “underpowered “ comments, I’d like to balance the opinions. There’s a driving experience available to all for which this car is perfect, from country lanes, B roads and up to twisty A roads you can bumble along elegantly and immerse yourself in the environment, you’ll see and hear far more detail than any ordinary car. On those roads driving quickly is also fun, it’s very light so there’s plenty power for that but you’d need to enjoy changing gears, it has the Mazda gear box which has to be the very best I’ve ever used, up and down the gears in a hurry, it has a vintage racer feel. The engine is sweet and responsive with the added benefit of being bomb proof, on the 80th it features side exit sports exhaust which has a nice burble on downshifts and a decent rasp when thrashed. It’s really the chassis that limits the speed when you overdo it, like all trads. the suspension is superb on the right surface at the right speed, not so much if you’re being silly.😃
In summary, most of the fun of the 3wheeler or a Caterham but relatively more comfortable, certainly for any passenger. Granted all three are rubbish on a boring dueller or Motorway. The only reason I haven’t updated to a newer more powerful Morgan is I love this one too much to part with it.
The very reason I bought Jeremy's Centenary 2009 at 115,500 miles these cars are so delightfully lithe within the design criteria - sort of GT horse and cart which for Devon Lanes and Dartmoor is perfect. I've put 3,000mls on her since July and as a daily she is perfection and at 75 no need to worry about any earthly considerations that you youngsters do..
Our Son and Daughter in law will have it for the summer again come Easter and play with it in Cornwall where they reside with no no winter storage facility.
The slog down to Goodwood Revival will be done in the near enough torque laden automatic Plus 8 for the reunion with Murray and a few other reprobates on here.

And not to mention, in the case of Ewan's blue with brass accents one, it's one of the prettiest Morgan's out there ... when it comes to the 'special' 80th bits they got the look just right .... now if they'd just brought back the flat-rad front end as a one-off as part of the package I might even consider giving up the wonderful simplicity of my crossflow for one!! 😆
The thing about 4/4s is that unlike the bigger engined cars you need to remember to use the torque selector when you want it to provide the required performance.
It's all very well wafting around on an enormous wave of torque that means you don't have to change gear from one county to the next, but I quite like changing gear and after half a century of driving I've got to be reasonably good at it.
A 4/4 on a twisty B road on a summer's afternoon with the engine being kept in the 3 to 4k band is heaven on a stick.

It is exactly why MMC introduced the 4/4 Sport Centenary 2009 model as they admitted they had lost their way in the ethos of a lightweight (800Kgs) nippy affordable (£27,995) car. I saw it in Henry's showroom in Bristol (in those days 2009) and fell in love with it (quick call to HQ) and it was duly registered and the fun began.
