I’m considering fitting one to my 2012 plus 4 before the summer gets going.
I’ve no qualms doing the job myself but I’m puzzled about which type and where from? There’s a couple of good guides (thanks again Dave W)
There are two types, one clamps to the spring (not keen on that) and the other replaces the bottom spring hanger plate which seems a better solution but does it cause clearance issues?
Prices seem to range from approx £250 - almost £500 for similar products and several suppliers don’t publish prices at all.
Thought welcomed.

They do help. Do brake reaction bars first. I never had clearance issues with the 3 cars I had with them. The gearbox hanger was way lower

I have a Mulfab one that was fitted 17 years ago, it’s clamped onto the spring and has never caused a problem nor come loose, certainly improves the handling and well worth doing.

I fitted the one that mounted to the bottom plate (it was a SSL one if I remember). In my head, it seemed a better option than adding a clamp round the leaf spring, but I can't offer any mechanical explanation as to why.
No clearance issues.

I had always thought that the option which replaces the lower spring clamping plate was surely the best but on talking with Cain he quite correctly pointed out that the spring clamp version does not effect spring function as at the point of the spring clamp there is no interleaf movement as the axle mount location forms a fixed point for the spring leaves. The pan hard rod clamp is mounted so close to the this point that the same is true.
In fact there is also one other further benefit in that if it does have any stiffening effect to the forward leaves it can only help to reduce tramping and as MMC only ever fit one anti tramp bar then all should be well! But it is an easier fit and saves fiddling with the axle mounting point and understanding chassis clearance from the U bolt clearance. As an engineer I was totally convinced that the spring hanger was the way to go but glad I had been given a true account of both options and their faults and advantages.
Simply.... there is a forward elemental spring function and the same to the rear.

I have Mulfab Panhard rod and anti-tramp bars on mine, fitted 15 years ago. I've never had a moment's problem with them, and been thankful for their presence on many occasions.

I fitted a Mulfab Panhard rod last year. Quite a fiddly operation due to limited access round the springs but once in place it works a treat.
