the a/c compressor is installed on my plus four but i don't have the a/c .

The a/c compressor was on all CX platform cars, but the rest of the a/c system was only fitted to those that ordered it.

The BMW engines come pre assembled with all the ancineries fitted at the BMW engine factory.

I guessed that. you would MMC would have considered replacing the compressor with a pulley & flogging them on.

A meticulous man in a shed would have resolved that, but clearly, numbers of men in the same shed didn't think it worthwhile.

I removed the starter motor on my Plus Six it is made by Denso in Italy BMW part number 8671505-02 reading on the WWW Denso in various BMW engines have a problem with heat soak resulting in hot start problems.
My car as done less than 8000 miles, should not have to replace a starter motor at this mileage.

I fitted a new starter motor supplied by a UK starter motor / alternator company for £250 with a 2 year warranty, looking good so far.
