Looking for some advice on new tires for a 2017 M3W. I have read some of the previous posts and see that Avons appear to not be designed for steering, Blockleys are hard to get in the USA. I am leaning towards Shinko 270 Super Classic. https://www.denniskirk.com/shinko/270-super-classic-tire.pfp545516.prdf?fs=545518 Please also suggest for the rear tire. Please steer me in the right direction. Thank you very much!

What makes you think the Shinko is "designed for steering"? It's a motorcycle tire, like the Avon.

I put two Duro HF308 front tires on my 3W last year. I am happy with them so far. I bought them from J&P Cycles.

I few people on here have used the Shinko E270 and rate them highly. Possibly Coker Excelsior Comp 400H19 may be easier to get in the USA than Blockleys, it's a very similar tyre? If you are not too bothered about rapid tyre wear there are a number of motorcycle tyres such as Metzeler ME888 and Michelin Commander tyres that work well but only for 3,000 miles or so.
As for rear tyres I like Bridgestone Weather Control A005 and may others use the Michelin Cross Climate, although with the Team Dynamics rear wheel (rather than the Minilite) the sidewall to drive belt clearance can be tight with the Michelin. Don't use the Goodyear Vector 4 Season, it has a "fat" sidewall and will rub the drive belt.

The stock steering geometry is the culprit behind the excessive tire wear. It's crap. Pete Larson from Ace Engineering solved it for his variants but Morgan was unwilling to pay to do it right. We are all stuck with it. The Duros have held up well and the Coker line may be unobtainium by now. The Avon's wear fast and the Blockleys are not much better.

A couple of years ago Cocker sent me 14 year old tires-I SENT THEM BACK. I currently am running shinko classic white wall tires. They seem to be a bit smaller than the orginal avons and when my speedo says 70 I am only going 60. The original AVON tires were meant for a side car. I also had put on a couple of dunlop MC tires and I got about 10k out of them

10,000 seems about right for anything up front. The steering has a bunch of drag built in. I'm currently on my 7th set of fronts for a car with 55,000 miles racked up. I sometimes thought the Avon and Blockley were using a tire formulation from WWII while Coker and Duro were using modern synthetics. My imagination running wild...
