The electric boot release on my S4 Aero 8 has stopped working. Has this happened to anyone else and we're you able to get it resolved? My dealer wasn't able to fix it - the electrics are out-dated, which didn't come as a big surprise. I was thinking of asking my Morgan dealer to add a normal keyed boot lock at the next service. If anyone else has done this I'd be very grateful to hear any advice as to how you got it done - including what make/type of lock was used. Hopefully I can find one which fits with the bottom half of the existing lock... Many thanks for any assistance James

On the Coupe they have run a cable into the passenger area just behind the passenger seat in case the electrics burp. I have had to use it a couple of times when the battery has run out of volts.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

It seems that in the Aero 8 there is something similar as well ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/hG8LrYZ4/2026-05-04.png)

My electric boot release has never worked on my Coupe - I just use the manual release.
I cant help thinking that they couldn't have had much confidence in the electric release system and that's why they added the manual one - or is that just too cynical ?

Reminds me very much of the way that the TVR "S" series had a solenoid-operated boot release (with a push-button in the door pillar), but as a failsafe there was a release cable which could be accessed by a "secret" process -- same logic, in case of doubt, make sure there's at least some way to open the boot.....
