Hi
I'm hopefully buying a Morgan 2010 V6 Roadster from a private seller in worcestershire. The car has been sat without many miles being added for 3/4 years. Happy to spend what is needed to get it back in top working order. But before buying it I want to know what I'm getting into and therefore I'm looking for a Morgan specialist mechanic in the area to inspect all parts of the car and provide a report of what work is needed.
Does anyone have any recommendations for who I should go to?
Hoping to buy the car in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks in advance Andy

Mark Middleton, Buryend Farm, Upton upon Severn, WR8 0NJ, 07880 722638, Middleton Motor Services on Farceook, or you could try the Factory service department.

Personally I would get the competent person that you entrust servicing your Morgan the task - that way he will be a fairly keen observer as he has to sort it in future thus answerable.. I do both myself but it's twenty seven years ownership now so getting to learn a little about them, for everything else there was Button (RIP) and is Arwyn .

Boaty, you will not do better than Mark for any ongoing servicing work etc and I am sure he will be happy to help you with an initial inspection. Good luck with your proposed purchase.

Don't be surprised if brakes and seals to engine and gearbox fail - little or no usage of a car creates it's own brand of failures.
These will not be evident on inspection but will be revealed as you put some miles on the car so you need a contingency budget of a grand or so for this sort of thing..
Good luck.

A 2010 Roadster will still be the 3.0 and they've proved to quite reliable on engine & 'box
My concern would be brakes (especially the rears) and old hydraulic fluid, change the clutch fluid too

My concern would be brakes (especially the rears) and old hydraulic fluid, change the clutch fluid too I messaged the OP and explained that my Roadster (06) was cared for up until it was sold to the Irish dealer and then ended up at a well known UK dealer. The two years+ that it sat in limbo meant that a well cared for car needed to be refreshed, both mechanically and cosmetically. I have spent a lot of money on it, with all the right people, and even then, it has just had even more spent on it getting it tip top. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Morgans don't do well sitting being unused. An inspection can tell you only so much because generally a whole host of other small niggles present themselves once you start using the car. #drivennothidden
